A year of buying SwitchBot on Amazon
Over the past year I've bought quite a few SwitchBot things on Amazon, on and off. First came the CO2 sensor in July 2025, then an LED ceiling light in October, and from May to July 2026 I added a light strip, a floor lamp, smart plugs, LED bulbs, and a height adjustment plate, an accessory for the Lock Ultra.
The CO2 sensor's screen shows the CO2 level, temperature, humidity and time all at once. You can set an alert for when the level gets high, and see the graph in the app. For the ceiling light I got the Pro version: stepless dimming and color temperature, a remote, and a built-in Hub with IR remote functions, so you don't need to buy a Hub separately.
The light strip is a 5 m RGBIC one, and the floor lamp is RGBIC too; both of these and the LED bulbs can change color. The bulbs have an E26 base, are 60 W equivalent, and come in a two-pack. The smart plugs are also a two-pack, with timers and power usage monitoring.
In Japanese homes, ceiling lights usually attach to a standard fitting on the ceiling, so you can install them yourself. SwitchBot stuff basically doesn't require touching any wiring, so it works in a rental too.
