Buying Anker chargers and power banks in Japan
Anker has its own company in Japan, Anker Japan, and the chargers and power banks on Amazon are basically models made for the Japanese market. The plugs are the standard Japanese two-prong type, so they work out of the box.
Chargers and power banks sold in Japan must carry the PSE mark: a diamond-shaped one on chargers, a round one on power banks. Anker from official channels always has it. If some no-name brand is ridiculously cheap and you can't find the mark, don't buy it.
The standard warranty is 18 months, and registering as a member on Anker's Japanese website extends it to 24. Purchases from the official store count too; just keep your order records.
When flying, power banks have to go in your carry-on; they can't be checked. Since the end of April 2026, the rules on flights in Japan have been tightened again: at most two per person, and on board you can't use a power bank to charge your phone or charge the power bank itself. The common 10000mAh and 20000mAh ones are under 100Wh, so taking them on is fine.
Anker has recalled several batches of power banks in Japan over the past couple of years, so if you have an old one at home, check its model number against the recall page on Anker's website.
